All that remains are the paved streets and driveways, and a fake city has been built on them.. When Boyd enters the distant wood, he finds himself at the bottom of a well. A rope was lowered onto him. When Boyd emerges from the well, Martin is the only one in the room and pinned to the wall. Martin did not throw the rope.
